Seen as though the world has gone crazy with credit crunch fever and people are trying their hardest to pay off as much debt as possible I thought I would cobble together a silly little program with will help paying off debt seam ever so less miserable!

Introducing the debt count down timer, basically enter in the start repayment date, the total debt and the repayment amount per month and click go! every second that ticks by it will show you just how much debt you have left to go – Satisfying eh? it will also show you a projected pay off date! ( not including interest of course)

Seriously the program has been hashed together in 10 mins – so if you enter 0 for the debt amount it will crash, if people like it I will improve it but for now its in its raw form so have fun paying that debt off!

I have created a new website called Dig My PC. Basically it works along the same lines as the rate my series that I know every one loves! (proably hates)

What happens is users provide links to pictures of there computers and other users rate them basied on look and spec, kind of the same as HotorNot but for PC.

I know some of you might think this is a little sad, but I wanted the challange of creating a rate my social network site that hasnt been really done well before, hopefully I can achieve this goal.

For a long time I have been a fan of the concept of the CSS Zen Garden. Users are encuraged to submit cascading style sheets to format the standard provided xhtml page.

I have been meaning to put aside some time to create a design for them and have created one based on Coffee! It can be viewed here.

On October the 5th 2008 I will be running the BUPA Great North Run. It is my first ever half marathon (13.1 miles) and for those of you who know me this is 12 miles longer than any distance I have run before, so wish me luck.

My uncle has suffered with MS for most of his life and this is my way of saying thanks for being a great uncle even though he is unwell.

Playing for West Herts Hockey Club I have often had to find other clubs when going to play them on a Saturday. So I have collated each clubs pitch information from the south east of England East Premier A and below and added it to a nice Google map. I Hope this helps who ever finds it.

I have recently being looking to get a memory stick which boots Linux, so that I can develop websites and write programs in a contained environment.

I purchased a 4 gig OCZ Rally2 USB drive from Amazon for £25 and tested several Linux operating systems, using the guides at www.pendrivelinux.com.

I also wanted to get Beryl (now Compiz) working on the stick. I tried Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy, 7.04 Feisty, 6.10 and 6.06 – however Compiz only partially worked on some of them and each were very slow to boot. Also my network card was only detected in 7.10 which seamed to hang on the grub loader then kick into life(bout 3 min boot time).

I then tried pendrivelinux’s version of Mandriva http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/02/13/pendrivelinux-2008-install-from-windows/ – the install was fast and painless and the boot time was 30 – 45 seconds which is great!

The best thing about this OS build was the amount of software already installed and all my hardware “just worked” on both my laptop and my desktop – even Bluetooth and wireless worked straight out of the box.

Compiz comes pre-installed too with Intel and ATI drivers, so all I needed to do was install the NVIDIA driver and I was all set!

I now find myself using the USB pendrive more than my installed operating system because of the speed and flexibility. Big thanks to www.pendrivelinux.com!

Back in October 2007 we went to Kew Gardens, and sore a fantastic display of plants in the Chilli house.

This inspired me to try to grow my own Chillis! thanks to the advice from http://www.chillisgalore.co.uk/ and http://www.thechileman.org/ - I set out buying the right equipment, soil and pots!

I bought some Kenyan Birds-eye chilli’s from the supermarket. I stripped out the seeds and placed them on a tea(without milk) solution filled kitchen roll. Left them in the airing cupboard to germinate and then planed them out into the propergator.

Here are the pictures that I have been taking of them as they have grown. This will be updated as time goes on.
